Welcome to another edition of Diversity Matters. We hope you will spend a few minutes reading through some of the highlights of our diversity, inclusion and belonging activities this year. The Mansfield Rule certification process has brought an even more concerted effort to continue to create diverse teams and diverse committees and to interview diverse candidates for Pepper Hamilton. Our Executive Committee has asked that we apply the Mansfield criteria to all committees and our entire attorney recruiting efforts.
We dove into addressing generation differences in the workplace by providing generation diversity training open for all attorneys. Our affinity groups have been hard at work bringing programming that teaches, embraces differences, and allows us to learn more about and from each other.
Our Celebrate Diversity event continues to bring together Pepper attorneys and staff, clients and members of the community in an effort to recognize that there is always more to do. This year, we continue to work on the diversity pipeline by honoring five students as part of our 9th annual high school essay contest. And we recognize a true champion of diversity, Michael J. Harrington, senior vice president and general counsel at Eli Lilly and Company, for his continued efforts to improve diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
