Scott R. Jones is vice chair of the Corporate and Securities Practice Group and concentrates his practice in securities, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions. He has substantial experience in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities (representing issuers, underwriters and investors) and acquisitions and dispositions of public and private companies. In addition, Mr. Jones regularly counsels boards of directors, independent board committees and senior management of companies on general corporate, strategic, governance, disclosure and transactional matters. He also advises emerging-growth companies in matters ranging from formation up to and through venture financing and exit transactions.
Mr. Jones is also active in the community. He on the board of Greener Partners, an organization focused on creating healthy communities through food, farms and education, and also serves as the organization’s treasurer and on the executive and finance committees of the organization’s board. He previously served on the board of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, an educational organization dedicated to informing and engaging people on matters of national and international significance.
Mr. Jones left Pepper briefly to serve as the deputy general counsel of Neose Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded clinical-stage biotechnology company. Mr. Jones is a certified public accountant. Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Jones worked in the audit department of KPMG in their New York office. His clients included financial services companies, mutual funds and high technology companies.
