Ms. Richter’s representative experience includes:

  • obtained defense verdict in favor of landlord on complaint brought by their tenants. Recovered six-figures awarded to landlord on the cross-complaint in the same jury trial, plus attorneys’ fees.
  • prepared and argued successful summary judgment motion defeating Plaintiffs’ wrongful death lawsuit against a private civil engineer who designed an alleged dangerous crosswalk across a parking lot on school property in Ventura, California
  • defeated summary adjudication motion brought by Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, LLP on behalf of an owner seeking fees incurred against architect and an ongoing defense obligation, spurring successful low five figure settlement
  • achieved early dismissal of a marine engineer from a case involving the replacement of concrete pilings that had been installed for a travel lift pier, which dismissal was upheld on appeal in a published opinion. State Ready Mix v. Moffatt & Nichol (2015) 232 Cal.App.4th 1227
  • represented prime contractor on a high profile Federal airfield hanger abatement project with respect to a lawsuit filed by their subcontractor alleging improper termination for convenience and other contract breaches. Settled significantly below mediator’s settlement proposal immediately following very successful pre-trial motions hearing
  • prepared and argued successful summary judgment motion defeating Plaintiffs’ lawsuit against a private traffic engineer who designed an alleged dangerous crosswalk near a school in San Bernardino, California
  • obtained judgment in favor of client utilizing anti-SLAPP statute to defeat highly contentious defamation action, including award of attorneys’ fees
  • secured favorable settlement of a copyright action brought by disgruntled prior architect against subsequent architect related to design of several upscale senior apartment communities
  • achieved early adjudication of defense obligation against roofing subcontractor, which prompted favorable settlement of the entire action
  • prepared and argued successful summary judgment motion defeating fraud related claims against real estate agent defendant, upheld by the Court of Appeal.
