Nicholas J. Gallo is an associate and registered patent attorney in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Rochester office. Mr. Gallo focuses his practice on preparation and prosecution of patent applications in a wide range of technologies, with a particular focus on software, network traffic management, application delivery and acceleration, mobile devices, operating systems and virtualization, network security, and digital and cloud storage solutions. 

Mr. Gallo has significant experience in post-issuance practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including with respect to inter partes reviews. He also provides counsel regarding computer technology in patent litigation cases. His litigation work has ranged from managing discovery proceedings and related motions to dispositive and expert preclusion motion practice in cases involving mechanical, software and light-emitting devices. 

For more than 10 years, Mr. Gallo has provided strategic patent counseling, including assistance with intellectual property opinions and patent landscape research. He has regularly collaborated with patent counsel and inventors to develop and implement intellectual property strategies, including as in-house counsel for the imaging electronics group of a large technology company and as on-site counsel for a small, research-based startup focusing on medical software.

Before joining Pepper, Mr. Gallo was an attorney at another national law firm.
