Michael S. DePrince is an associate in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Washington, D.C. office. Mr. DePrince focuses his practice on representing pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in government investigations and qui tam litigation involving the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act. He also has experience conducting internal investigations and counseling companies on regulatory compliance and risk avoidance.
In addition, Mr. DePrince maintains an active pro bono practice representing individuals seeking asylum, withholding of removal and relief under the Convention Against Torture. Among other representations, he recently argued on behalf of appellant and secured a remand for further proceedings in Duncan v. Barr, 919 F.3d 209 (4th Cir. 2019).
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. DePrince clerked for the Honorable Justice Barry T. Albin of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
Mr. DePrince is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (he is not admitted in the District of Columbia). Mr. DePrince is under supervision by principals of Pepper Hamilton LLP who are members of the D.C. Bar.
