Megan E. Bowers is a patent agent in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Washington office.
Before joining Pepper, Dr. Bowers was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. There, her work focused on noninvasive quantitative and semiquantitative imaging of articular cartilage in both clinical subjects and large animals. Additionally, Dr. Bowers has worked on a freelance basis as a medical writer and editor, providing grant and manuscript writing expertise to clinicians and research scientists in a variety of disciplines. Her scientific experience broadly spans biomedical engineering, orthopaedics, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), image processing, human clinical studies, large animal studies, medical devices, and bioinstrumentation.
Dr. Bowers holds a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from Brown University. Her research background is primarily in the area of orthopaedics, with an emphasis in quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (qMRI) and 3D modeling of articular cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. She also holds a B.S.E. in biomedical engineering, with a concentration in bioinformatics, from the University of Connecticut.
