Brian M. Katz, a partner in the Commercial Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP, is the immediate past chair of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group and a past member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Katz concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions, securities, venture capital and general corporate representation. He handles all types of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, venture capital transactions, joint venture relationships, corporate governance matters and compensation issues.

In his public securities practice, Mr. Katz represents issuers and underwriters in initial and secondary public offerings. He also assists clients in complying with their federal and state reporting and disclosure requirements as public companies.

Mr. Katz has extensive experience representing insurance brokerages in purchase and sale transactions.  As the head of Pepper’s Insurance Brokerage M&A practice, Mr. Katz has represented some of the largest national brokerages in their acquisition strategies and has also represented brokers in their exit transactions.
