Benjamin Mittman is special counsel in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton LLP. Mr. Mittman concentrates his practice in private investment fund formation in many different asset categories, including traditional private equity, growth, venture, real estate, infrastructure, mezzanine and senior debt, RMBS and consumer health and wellness for onshore and offshore investment funds, feeder funds, separately managed accounts, employee participation vehicles and family offices. He has extensive experience in representing a wide variety of fund sponsors, asset managers and institutional investors and in structuring "upper-tier" general partner, management company and special limited partner arrangements. He also has broad-based expertise in private equity and mergers and acquisitions transactions representing investment banks, financial institutions, entrepreneurs and companies in a variety of industries, including financial services, mortgage origination, insurance, education, software, Internet, tobacco and communications. 

Before joining Pepper, Mr. Mittman served as senior vice president, senior counsel of Capmark Financial Group Inc. (f.k.a. GMAC Commercial), an international financial services company operating in North America, Asia and Europe. At its height, Capmark had over 2,000 employees located in 57 offices worldwide and possessed one of the largest global commercial mortgage servicing portfolios of more than $288 billion in loans.
