Pepper Hamilton Lawyers Named to New York Super Lawyers and Rising Stars Lists for 2018
Pepper Hamilton announced that seven lawyers have been named by New York-Metro Super Lawyers magazine as top attorneys in the state for 2018. Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in New York are named to Super Lawyers and no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.
The following lawyers have been named to the New York-Metro Super Lawyers list:
H. Peter Haveles, Jr.
James D. Rosener
Ira M. Schulman
Howard J. Shire
The following lawyers have been named to the New York-Metro Rising Stars list:
Emily D. Anderson
Soumya Sharma
Brian Wong
A statewide survey of lawyers who have been in practice for at least 5 years leads to the nomination of the best attorneys they have personally observed in action. Candidates are also added from searches by an attorney-led research staff for those who have attained certain honors or achievements. A research department examines the background and experience of each candidate. Point totals are calculated from the balloting and qualitative evaluation steps. Candidates are grouped according to primary area of practice. Members of a blue ribbon panel, selected from those with high point totals, review a list of candidates from their practice area. Final candidates are those with the highest point totals from each category. The selection process for Rising Stars is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process except that: 1) to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for ten years or less and 2) candidates for Rising Stars do not go through peer evaluation by practice area.
