Miranda Hooker Quoted in Law360 Article, 'Ex-Pimco CEO Keeps Passport After College Scam Charge'

Miranda Hooker, a partner in the Health Sciences Department and the White Collar Litigation and Investigations Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton, was quoted in the March 13, 2019 Law360 article, "Ex-Pimco CEO Keeps Passport After College Scam Charge."

But U.S. Magistrate Judge M. Page Kelley allowed the Laguna Beach, California, resident to keep his passport, citing his clean criminal record and "steady employment," among other factors. His attorney, Miranda Hooker of Pepper Hamilton LLP, said Hodge wanted to be able to travel for work and had a trip to Asia planned this spring.

Hodge, 61, was released on $500,000 bond. He was out of the country Tuesday when he learned about the charges against him for conspiracy to commit mail fraud, Hooker said, and he flew to Boston on a red-eye to surrender to authorities Wednesday. When Judge Kelley asked if he understands the charges against him, Hodge, wearing a suit, replied: "Yes, I do."
