Leah Greenberg Katz and J. Gregg Miller Honored at First Judicial District of Pennsylvania 2016 Pro Bono Publico Awards Ceremony

Pepper Hamilton attorneys Leah Greenberg Katz and J. Gregg Miller were honored at the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania 2016 Pro Bono Publico Awards Ceremony which took place on October 27, 2016 in Philadelphia, PA.

Ms. Katz received the Pro Bono Publico Award for her pro bono work with the Court of Common Pleas - Family Division - Dependency where she represented several children removed by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services from family homes due to allegations of abuse or neglect.

Mr. Miller received the Pro Bono Publico Award for his pro bono work with the Court of Common Pleas - Civil Division where he represented the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Mr. Miller has provided support to the work of SPCA officers who enforce state laws prohibiting animal cruelty in matters ranging from puppy mills to relatively new provisions of state law that require animal owners whose animals have been removed to pay the actual costs of ongoing proper care of these animals.
