Pepper Hamilton LLP is proud to announce that partner Leah Greenberg Katz has been selected for the 2020 Fellows Program of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), and associate Connie Lee has been chosen as a member of LCLD’s 2020 class of Pathfinders. Pepper Hamilton has been a member of LCLD, a national organization composed of the legal profession’s top general counsel and managing partners, since its inception in 2009.
Ms. Katz, a partner in Pepper Hamilton’s Health Sciences Department and Trial and Dispute Resolution Practice Group, will participate in the landmark Fellows Program, which LCLD created to identify, train and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.
According to LCLD President Robert J. Grey, Jr., the LCLD Fellows Program offers participants “a year-long, in-depth program devoted to relationship-building, in-person training, peer-group projects, and extensive contact with LCLD’s top leadership and the best teachers in the business.”
Ms. Katz represents and counsels a broad range of clients in complex commercial litigation and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on consumer class action defense and health care-related matters. She is the latest Pepper partner to participate in the Fellows Program, joining the ranks of Frank D. Liu (2019), Tuhin Ganguly (2018), Nilufer R. Shaikh (2017), Tambry Lynette Bradford (2016), Hyung P. Steele (2013) and Kassem L. Lucas (2011).
Ms. Lee, an associate in the Health Sciences Department, has been chosen to participate in LCLD’s Pathfinder Program, which trains high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies, including leadership and the building of professional networks.
Ms. Lee — whose practice includes a range of complex commercial litigation — will participate in in-person training, online experiential learning, and LCLD networking events as part of the Pathfinder Program. Past Pepper participants include Dennie B. Zastrow (2019), Courtney M. Goins (2018), Courtney A. Munnings (2017) and Jessica X.Y. Rothenberg (2015).
Thomas J. Cole, Jr., Pepper’s Managing Partner, said, “Pepper Hamilton has been a proud member of LCLD for more than a decade. The partners and associates who have participated in the Fellows and Pathfinder programs have come back with new ideas and skills to better serve clients and advance their legal careers. I am excited for Leah and Connie to benefit from these important programs.”
Founded in 2009, LCLD is an organization of more than 320 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners — the leadership of the profession — who have dedicated themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. For information, visit www.lcldnet.org.
