Angelo A. Stio III Appointed Co-Chair of New Jersey State Bar Association's Privacy Law Committee
Angelo A. Stio III (CIPP/US), a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP and a member of the firm’s Privacy, Security and Data Protection Group, has been appointed co-chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Privacy Law Committee for the 2017-2018 term.
In Mr. Stio’s role as co-chair of the Privacy Law Committee, he will help advance the legal profession’s understanding of, and commitment to, data privacy and information security issues affecting the legal industry and its clients.
“It is an honor and privilege to be appointed to this leadership role within the state bar,” Mr. Stio said. “I have been involved with privacy and security matters for much of my career, and I am eager to advance the discussion on privacy and security issues that impact all areas of the legal profession, including transactional work, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, white collar representation and litigation.”
At Pepper Hamilton, Mr. Stio assists clients with investigating and responding to security incidents and compliance with international, federal and state notification requirements. Mr. Stio also handles a variety of litigation matters arising from data security incidents. Mr. Stio speaks and publishes frequently on privacy and security issues and recently co-authored the “Crisis Management: Electronic Data and Cyber Security Considerations” chapter in eDiscovery for Corporate Counsel (Thompson West 2016).
