Selection Process for The Best Lawyers in America

Lawyers are selected entirely by their peers. Nominations are made by voting lawyers and firm marketing departments. Nominating lawyers are asked, "If you could not handle a case yourself, to whom would you refer it?"

Voting lawyers, generally in the same specialty and location as the nominee, give nominees letter grades which are converted into numerical equivalents and then averaged. The average required for inclusion varies according to the average for all nominees within the specialty and community.

Selected lawyers are checked against state bar association sanctions lists to be sure they are in good standing. No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. See for more detail.
