Blockchain for Wall Street

Pepper Hamilton is a sponsor of Blockchain for Wall Street, the 2nd annual education day from the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA), produced in association with Lighthouse Partners and its The Blockchain Conference executive events series.

Joan C. Arnold, a partner with Pepper and chair of the firm's Tax Practice Group, will be speaking on the 3:45 PM panel titled "What the World of Accountancy Needs to Know About Blockchain and Cryptoassets." This panel will discuss how blockchain technology is changing and affecting global finance and accountancy, how the role of CFOs, auditors and more need to evolve, and ultimately how blockchain and cryptoassets will impact the world of global business. Other panelists include Ron Quaranta of Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (moderator), Erik Asgeirsson of CPA.com, Amy Pawlicki of AICPA and Cari Weston of AICPA.

The WSBA is an advocacy group for Wall Street in the blockchain world. Some of the most prominent law firms around are involved with this group. The WSBA is preparing to release guidance as to how the blockchain community should manage Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and the organization has received the assistance of many large law firms to help sort things out. Pepper is proud to be involved with the WSBA.
