We are pleased to present the inaugural issue of Diversity Matters, which highlights our continuing commitment to diversity, and our efforts to enhance firm diversity and promote and sustain an inclusive workplace.

In this issue, we spotlight several of the firm’s diversity initiatives and accomplishments. While we are proud of our accomplishments, we are mindful of the remarks of Nina M. Gussack, chair of Pepper’s Executive Committee, at our fifth annual Celebrate Diversity event. Nina remarked that diversity is more than hiring a certain number of women and minorities and touting the achievements in that area. “Diversity is about taking advantage of the full breadth and depth of the experiences, education, cultural knowledge and viewpoints of our people – all of our people,” Nina commented. “In doing so, each one of us has to take individual responsibility to consider diverse viewpoints, and to use diverse people and diverse methods to get better results for clients and for us.”
