Suzanne Forbis Mack is an associate in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Philadelphia office.
Ms. Mack focuses her practice on counseling and defending companies with products regulated by the FDA, including prescription medications, medical devices, and food and beverages, as well as companies involved in the highly-regulated alcoholic beverage industry. She has experience representing pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in products liability and commercial litigation, as well as in federal civil and criminal investigations involving the Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act. She also provides due diligence and regulatory advice on corporate transactions relating to health care, life science and other regulated industries.
Ms. Mack is also a member of the firm’s Alcoholic Beverage Industry Practice Group and the Food and Beverage Industry Group. In this practice, Ms. Mack focuses on providing legal advice to businesses regarding all aspects of manufacturing, distributing and selling alcohol. Ms. Mack is an active speaker and writer on these topics.
Ms. Mack additionally maintains an active pro bono practice. She has filed a clemency petition on behalf of an inmate serving a lengthy sentence for a non-violent drug crime and is currently lead attorney in a prisoner civil rights case. She also provides ongoing representation for asylees and refugees in immigration proceedings. Early in her practice, she was involved in death penalty and criminal defense litigation.
Prior to returning to Pepper in 2013 after a family-leave hiatus, Ms. Mack had ten years of experience representing clients in commercial litigation matters, including securities fraud, antitrust and complex commercial disputes, during which she had extensive deposition experience and served as second chair at two trials, giving the opening argument in one and questioning multiple witnesses in both.
