Michael J. Custer is an associate in the Corporate Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Wilmington office. Mr. Custer has experience representing a broad range of clients in cases under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code as well as state law proceedings, including debtors, creditors’ committees, liquidating trustees, asset purchasers, foreign representatives, ad hoc committees, and secured and unsecured creditors. Mr. Custer also represents both plaintiffs and defendants in bankruptcy-related litigation matters, and counsels clients regarding the negotiation and drafting of contractual terms related to insolvency and bankruptcy matters.
In addition to his experience in core bankruptcy and restructuring matters, Mr. Custer also brings to clients’ matters the perspective he has developed litigating matters both in the Delaware Court of Chancery and Delaware Superior Court. Mr. Custer has layered experience in all stages of litigation from pre-filing negotiation through discovery and trial preparation.
Mr. Custer also represents children in Delaware in judicial proceedings as a guardian ad litem with the Office of the Child Advocate, and has represented on a pro bono basis a section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to the preservation of land.
