Joseph C. Crawford, a trial lawyer who handles complex commercial cases, is a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Philadelphia office. Mr. Crawford is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is listed in The Best Lawyers In America in Commercial Litigation and First Amendment Law and in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in commercial litigation.
Mr. Crawford has successfully represented major law firms and their lawyers in cases involving: (1) legal malpractice claims; (2) negligent misrepresentation and fraud claims; (3) a motion to disqualify a law firm from continuing to represent its client in significant litigation; and (4) allegations of conflict of interest and violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Mr. Crawford has a broad civil litigation practice. He has tried cases in many areas of the law, including product liability, breach of contract, fraud, securities, defamation, insurance, cases arising out of mergers and acquisitions, death penalty litigation and other pro bono cases.
Mr. Crawford has served on the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Board of Governors.
Before joining Pepper in 2006, Mr. Crawford was a partner with Wolf, Block, Schorr and Solis-Cohen LLP and served on that firm’s Executive Committee. He was an associate and partner at Schnader, Harrison, Segal & Lewis from 1979 to 1991, except for a one-year period during which he served as deputy city solicitor for the City of Philadelphia.
