Janet B. Barsky is an attorney in the Labor and Employment Practice Group with Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the New York office. Ms. Barsky focuses her practice on independent contractor compliance counseling and litigation and is a member of the firm’s Independent Contractor Compliance Practice Group. She is managing editor of “Independent Contractor Misclassification and Compliance,” the only legal blog in the U.S. dedicated to this subject.
Before joining Pepper, Ms. Barsky was an associate with Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. in New York for seven years, practicing in the area of employment and labor law. She resumed her active practice of law after a hiatus, during which time she turned her attention to charitable affairs, becoming a leader of a number of civic, health care and educational organizations.
In addition to her work as an attorney, Ms. Barsky continues to serve as a trustee of the East Meadow Public Library, a board member of The ELIJA School for Autism, the chair of the Meinig Family Cornell National Scholars Recruitment Team for Cornell University, and a chair of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network.
