Hannah Dowd McPhelin is a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Harrisburg and Philadelphia offices and vice chair of the firm's Real Estate Practice Group. Ms. McPhelin concentrates her practice in real estate matters and other business transactions, including the acquisition, sale and financing of commercial real estate properties and leasing of office, retail, warehouse and industrial space, representing both landlords and tenants. She is a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional and was named a member of The Counselors of Real Estate in 2017. She is also a member of the firm’s Sustainability, CleanTech and Climate Change Team.
Ms. McPhelin is the former co-editor of sustainability-counsel.com, a blog for businesses, individuals and lawyers seeking information about renewable energy, green technology, green building, climate change, financial incentives and more. The blog was recognized by LexisNexis® as a Top 50 Blog of 2011 in Environmental Law & Climate Change.
Ms. McPhelin is a family faculty program speaker and recently completed a three-year term as a member of the Patient and Family Centered Care Advisory Council for Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. She also is a member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Philadelphia and served as chair of the Communications Committee for 2014, and she recently served for three years as a member of the Board of Directors of the USGBC – Central PA, a chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council as well as the chair of the Communications Committee. She also serves as the vice chair of the Emerging Issues and Specialty Leases Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law.
Before attending law school, Ms. McPhelin spent two years as a legal assistant with Hoyle, Morris and Kerr LLP in Philadelphia.
