Angelo A. Stio, III (CIPP/US) is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and vice chair of the Trial and Dispute Resolution Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Princeton and New York offices. He also is a member of the firm’s Higher Education Practice Group. Mr. Stio has been included in the New Jersey Super Lawyers listing from 2011-2017 for business litigation.
As a member of Pepper’s Higher Education Practice Group, Mr. Stio brings a unique perspective to clients. Before graduating from law school, Mr. Stio served as a university administrator, where he gained a deep understanding of the culture of higher education institutions, the involvement of constituent groups and the importance of revenue-generating activities.
With respect to his education work, Mr. Stio has represented colleges and universities in high-profile litigations related to board governance, hazing, suicide, endowment management and Title IX. Mr. Stio also counsels a number of higher education institutions on student affairs issues, tenure matters, and data privacy and security.
