Yvonne M. McKenzie, a partner with Pepper Hamilton, recently was honored by the National Diversity Council (NDC) with its Leadership Excellence in the Law Award.
NDC Leadership Awards distinguish individuals from all backgrounds within their respective organizations and companies in the corporate, education, legal and medical fields. The awards acknowledge individuals who have had a significant impact on their organization through an initiative they implemented, collaborate well with other people and organizations, continually develop self and others, and operate with the highest integrity and ethical behavior.
Ms. McKenzie was recognized at the NDC’s 6th Annual Philadelphia Diversity & Leadership Conference on September 4 at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue. General Colin Powell, former Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was the keynote speaker.
Ms. McKenzie is a member of the firm’s Health Effects Litigation Practice Group and focuses her practice on the defense of pharmaceutical companies in products liability and class action litigation in state and federal courts, as well as claims brought by state Attorneys General and government entities for restitution of Medicaid payments and civil penalties. She graduated, summa cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and earned her undergraduate degree from Duquesne University.
