Attorneys and invited guests will gather for Pepper’s ninth annual reception to celebrate the law firm’s diversity, recognize the firm’s on-going diversity efforts and enjoy the diversity amongst our clients and in our community.
Featuring brief remarks by Scott Green, Pepper’s first CEO and the first non-lawyer to lead an AmLaw 100 firm, and The Honorable James T. Giles, former U.S. District Court Judge and of counsel at Pepper Hamilton, the event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 22, 2013 at The Stotesbury Mansion in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square.
Judge Giles, the first African-American lawyer to join Pepper and the first person of color to be elected to the firm’s partnership, will announce the winners of this year’s Honorable James T. Giles Writing Competition. Sponsored by Pepper Hamilton, the high school essay contest is part of a “pipeline initiative” to encourage an interest in law school among the diverse student population of Philadelphia’s public schools.
Brian W. Ellis, vice president and chief counsel at Medtronic, will be presented with Pepper Hamilton’s 2014 Champion of Diversity Award.
