Pepper a Finalist for Healthcare/Life Sciences M&A Law Firm of the Year
Pepper Hamilton is a finalist for the “Healthcare and Life Sciences M&A Law Firm of the Year” award at the Americas M&A Atlas Awards, which will be announced at a gala event on Nov. 2, 2017 at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York City.
More than 800 transactions were analyzed to select finalists and winners for the Americas M&A Atlas Awards, with law firms and other advisors judged on “transaction performance metrics, team expertise and record of accomplishments,” according to Raj Kashyap, managing partner of Global M&A Network, which runs the awards program.
Pepper was counsel on three transactions that earned top honors from the M&A Atlas Awards. Audax Private Equity’s acquisition of Women’s Health Care Group and its combination with Regional Health Group to form Axia Women’s Health, the largest OB/GYN network in the United States, won top honors as “Healthcare Services Deal of the Year.” DFW Capital Partners’ acquisition of Children’s Dental Health Associates won the “U.S.A. Growth Equity Investment Deal of the Year” award. Pepper, led by partners John W. Jones Jr. and Solomon Hunter Jr., was counsel to Women’s Health Care Group and Regional Health Care Group in the Axia transactions, and counsel to Children’s Dental Health Associates in the DFW transaction. A valuable partner with Pepper, Provident Healthcare Partners, was the investment banking firm on these transactions and was led by Robert Ciardi and Michael Patton. Provident is a finalist for Healthcare Services Investment Bank of the Year in the M&A Atlas Awards.
“These transactions were transformational for our clients,” Mr. Jones said. “It’s very satisfying to help clients bring strategic deals like these to a successful finish, and we’re very glad to see our clients and our work earn this recognition.”
Mr. Jones is the leader of the firm’s Health Care Transactions Practice, which combines health care regulatory and corporate/M&A experience to provide health care clients with the services needed to successfully complete complex transactions in a one-stop shop environment.
