John A. Zurawski of Pepper Hamilton LLP will be presented with the 2013 Strategic Alliances Service Award by the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) at its national meeting on February 28 in San Antonio, TX.
The award is being given to Mr. Zurawski in recognition of his ability to strengthen partnerships among AUTM members and non-members, his participation in the educational components of its annual Eastern Regional Meeting, and his help in raising sponsorship dollars for the organization. For 2012 and 2013, he has chaired the Sponsorship Committee of the Eastern Regional Meeting. In 2012, Mr. Zurawski led a fundraising effort which yielded over $54,000 for the organization.
The core purpose of AUTM is to support and advance academic technology transfer globally. Among the organization’s goals are to serve as the definitive resource about academic technology transfer; to link and strengthen a network of global communities of technology transfer professionals; and to exemplify excellence in leadership, governance, and knowledge management supported by an informed and innovative board and staff.
Mr. Zurawski is an associate in Pepper Hamilton’s Berwyn office. He concentrates his practice in intellectual property, primarily on intellectual property transactions and counseling, with a substantial portion of his work devoted to patent prosecution and intellectual property licensing matters. Mr. Zurawski received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in molecular biology (B.A., 1999 and M. Biotech, 2000). He received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.
