Philadelphia, PA – September 16, 2010 – Joan C. Arnold, a partner with Pepper Hamilton LLP, has been named a “2010 Most Powerful and Influential Woman of Pennsylvania” by The National Diversity Council (NDC). Ms. Arnold was recognized at the NDC’s 2010 Pennsylvania Diversity and Leadership Conference, held on September 10 at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She was one of 11 women selected for their leadership excellence, professional accomplishments and commitment to community well-being.
Ms. Arnold is the head of Pepper Hamilton’s Tax Practice Group, resident in the firm’s Philadelphia office. She focuses her practice on U.S. corporate tax and international tax issues.
Ms. Arnold is a Regent of the American College of Tax Counsel and a past chair of the American Bar Association Tax Section’s Committee on U.S. Activities of Foreigners and Tax Treaties. Ms. Arnold is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and has been named the Philadelphia Best Lawyers Tax Lawyer of the Year for 2010. She also is listed in The International Who’s Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers and The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. Ms. Arnold is a frequent speaker and author. For 23 years, she was an adjunct professor of law at Villanova University School of Law – Graduate Tax Program.
