Jeremy D. Frey Quoted in New Jersey Law Journal Article, 'U.S. Supreme Court's Bribery Decision: A Gift for the Menendez Defense?'

Jeremy D. Frey, a partner in the White Collar Litigation and Investigations Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton, was quoted in the July 1, 2016 New Jersey Law Journal article, "U.S. Supreme Court's Bribery Decision: A Gift for the Menendez Defense?"

Jeremy Frey, a defense lawyer at Pepper Hamilton in Philadelphia and former assistant U.S. attorney in charge of the Camden office, said, "We will have to await the proof to be offered at trial to really know if a McDonnell defect might arise" in Menendez's case. "That said, the official act allegations of the Menendez indictment...go far beyond 'setting up a meeting, talking to another official or organizing an event—without more,'" Frey said, using Justice Roberts' language on actions that do not make out official acts.
