IAM Patent 1000 Recognizes Pepper Hamilton Partner and Massachusetts and Pennsylvania Intellectual Property Groups

Principal industry publisher identifies world’s top patent attorneys and law firms

Philadelphia, PA – July 11, 2012: Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that the firm and intellectual property partner William D. Belanger were recognized in the inaugural edition of IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners. Pepper Hamilton offices located in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania also received recognition in the guide. The firm and its partners have been named in previous years by IAM Licensing 250.

Mr. Belanger, Pepper partner and co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, was among the International Trade Commission (ITC) recommended attorneys as well as for litigation in Massachusetts, his primary location. According to the research, Mr. Belanger “is extremely thorough and demonstrates great anticipation.” The firm also was recognized in Massachusetts for its litigation work.

In Pennsylvania, Pepper was recommended for its licensing and prosecution work. As stated in the publication, “Pepper Hamilton is proving an increasingly attractive option for companies with large patent portfolios; it’s proactive, cost-effective approach and staff of attorneys with diverse technical backgrounds have helped to push it ahead of many peers in this competitive market.”

Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine conducted an extensive five months of research to identify those listed in the guide. A team of experienced researchers interviewed one thousand attorneys, patent attorneys and in-house counsel to gather market intelligence on the leading practitioners in the field. “Only those individuals identified by market sources for their exceptional skill sets and profound insights into patent litigation feature in the IAM Patent 1000,” according to the IAM.
