Following her many years of serving the mission of the SeniorLAW Center (SLC), the organization elected Pepper Of Counsel Gay Parks Rainville as chair of its Board of Directors this past October. She had joined SLC’s board of directors in August 2006, then served as one of the board’s vice chairs, from November 2008 to October 2013.
Pepper lawyers have worked on pro bono cases referred by SLC for many years, long before Rainville joined the agency’s board. Beginning in 2012, Pepper lawyers partnered with SLC and created the Fighting Contractor Fraud practice group to represent seniors who have been victimized by contractors performing substandard work and/or promoting unfair or unaffordable contract terms.
“It is an honor to serve as SLC’s board chair,” Rainville said. “I hope to successfully lead the board in raising sufficient funds this year so that we can meet the legal needs of every low-income senior who knocks on our door. This year’s annual fundraising gala will be especially exciting as we will celebrate the service and contributions of older veterans and salute our 2014 Champion of the Year, Dr. Leon Bass.”
