May 25, 2011 – Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that David B. Stratton, a partner in the firm’s Wilmington office, has been named by Delaware Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in the state for 2011. Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in Delaware receive this honor.

He is a past member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Stratton has over 30 years of experience representing debtors, creditors’ committees, secured and individual creditors, and parties-in-interest as both lead and co-counsel in bankruptcy courts in the Districts of Delaware and Maryland, the Southern District of New York and other U.S. bankruptcy courts. Mr. Stratton is a graduate of Gettysburg College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Selection Process for Super Lawyers

A statewide survey of lawyers who have been in practice for at least 5 years leads to the nomination of the best attorneys they have personally observed in action. Candidates also are added from searches by an attorney-led research staff for those who have attained certain honors or achievements. A research department examines the background and experience of each candidate. Point totals are calculated from the balloting and qualitative evaluation steps. Candidates are grouped according to primary area of practice. Members of a blue ribbon panel, selected from those with high point totals, review a list of candidates from their practice area. Final candidates are those with the highest point totals from each category. See http://www.superlawyers.com/ for more detail.
