Philadelphia, Pa. – January 7, 2010 – Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that three associates have been elected to the partnership and one has been elected of counsel, effective January 1, 2010. All were promoted from within the firm.
Those elected as partners are:

Details about the new partners and of counsel are as follows:
Barak A. Bassman is a member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton, resident in the Philadelphia office. Mr. Bassman concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation. A graduate of New York University School of Law (J.D. 2000) and Grinnell College (B.A. 1997), he joined Pepper Hamilton in 2000.
Michael J. Leonard is a member of Pepper Hamilton’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, resident in the Philadelphia office. Mr. Leonard focuses his practice on advising clients with regard to the availability and adoption of trademarks and the management and enforcement of domestic and international trademark portfolios. He counsels clients on internet and domain name disputes and a variety of intellectual property transactions involving trademark and copyright licenses, intellectual property due diligence and portfolio audits. A graduate of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center at the Max Planck Institute (LL.M. 2005), the University of Tulsa College of Law (J.D. 1997), and the University of Pittsburgh (B.A. 1988), he joined Pepper Hamilton in 2006.
Kassem L. Lucas is a member of the Commercial Insurance and Reinsurance Practice Group in the Philadelphia office of Pepper Hamilton. Mr. Lucas concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, reinsurance and insurance insolvency. A graduate of Temple University School of Law (J.D. 2000) and Yale University (B.A. 1994), he joined Pepper Hamilton in 2000.
Adam B. Michaels is a member of the Health Effects Litigation Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton, resident in the New York office. He concentrates his practice in complex litigation, including product liability, general commercial and intellectual property disputes. Mr. Michaels has represented and advised clients regarding a range of claims asserted before federal and state courts and arbitration panels, including breach of contract, RICO, consumer fraud, products liability, personal injury, and patent and trademark infringement claims. A graduate Georgetown University Law Center (J.D. 1998) and Columbia University (A.B. 1994), he joined Pepper Hamilton in 2005.
