Samuel J. Abate, Jr. is a partner in the Health Sciences Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP in the firm's New York office. He has more than thirty years' experience representing clients in complex pharmaceutical and medical device product liability matters. Mr. Abate is a member of the firm’s e-Discovery, Professional Responsibility and Paralegal committees.
Mr. Abate focuses his practice in civil litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device companies in complex litigation involving marketed products and medical devices. He also advises clients on issues relating to electronic discovery.
Mr. Abate is a member of local, state and national bar associations and the Defense Research Institute, where he serves on the Drug and Medical Device webinar committee. Mr. Abate volunteers at the Attorney for a Day Program at the Westchester Supreme Court, and he has been active in various civic groups and served as Mayor of the Village of Ardsley in Westchester County, NY.
