This program will provide attendees with a brief overview of the international discovery process and current regulatory and practical updates that will impact international e-discovery. The panel will start with a discussion of the Hague Convention and its impact on international discovery. Next, the panel will discuss data privacy and the interplay with international law considerations. The majority of this discussion will be related to the upcoming enforcement of the General Data Protection Regulation, which takes effect this May. Finally, the panel will provide ethical considerations for attorneys practicing in matters involving private international law in light of the recent advancements discussed during the presentation.
