Session: 510, “Digitization and Antitrust: New Antitrust Challenges in Europe and Around the Globe”
Presented in cooperation with Lex Mundi.
As globalization and digitization pose new antitrust challenges around the world, authorities and lawmakers are forced to focus on and quickly catch up with new conceptual work, legislative initiatives and increased enforcement activities. The European Commission and its member states’ enforcers, for example, keep a close eye on algorithm-driven cartels. Big data scenarios are being looked at under abuse of dominance rules and vertical antitrust rules serve to regulate e-commerce. An international panel of antitrust law experts will address the myriad questions on how these new regulatory activities affect businesses, explore enthusiasm from particular European enforcers and discuss other pressing questions and recent developments.
