Counsel for the Situation: Incorporating Diversity into External Networking and the Practice of Law

Speakers: James T. Giles, T. Stephen Jenkins and Isla L. Long

2/26/2013

The Pepper Hamilton African American/Black Affinity Group invites area attorneys and law students to participate in an interactive session focused on practical tips for highlighting diversity within recruiting and networking efforts and making diversity a part of everyday practice.

Taken from the title of the great Philadelphia lawyer William T. Coleman Jr's autobiography, Counsel for the Situation: Shaping the Law to Realize America's Promise, this panel will discuss topics such as communicating the value of diversity, translating diversity into dollars, and facilitating meaningful conversations amongst diverse attorneys and majority counterparts.

Participants will join in a dialogue amongst attorneys and professionals representing the corporate, financial, government, and not-for-profit sectors. Participants will also have the opportunity to put learned tips into action at a networking reception following the discussion.
