Mentoring & Networking
Understanding the importance of mentoring as a critical element in attorney development, Pepper established a mentoring program for all associates of color, which includes training for mentors and protégés, and regular meetings of the participants for comparing notes on best mentoring practices and monitoring the program’s progress. The program has proven to be a great success and has been expanded to include all associates at Pepper.
To promote networking within the firm, Pepper created a series of social interest groups which provide opportunities for those at the firm to interact on a more personal level and develop relationships that cross barriers under a single, common interest such as food, books, sports, or fitness, to name a few.
Pepper believes that good mentoring and networking also should occur outside of the law firm, so Pepper pays for minority bar association memberships.
