Women have long played an equal role in managing the firm and providing legal services to clients. In 1960, we were one of the first major law firms in the nation to elect a woman partner. We broke another glass ceiling in 1993, when we became one of the first major law firms in the country to elect a woman as managing partner. In 2007, we elected a woman to chair the firm’s Executive Committee.
Today, women serve on every firm management committee, including the Executive Committee, the Diversity Committee, the Finance Committee, the Compensation Committee and the Hiring Committee.
Women partners chair our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, and our practices in antitrust, commercial litigation, India, funds services, health effects litigation, media and communications, pharmaceutical and medical device litigation and counseling, and tax.
Women also are leaders in firm administration. Top administrative positions held by women include Director of Administration, Director of Information Services and Technology, Director of Professional Development and Recruiting, Director of Library and Research Services, and Director of User Services.
