Photo of Wilmington Office Pepper's Wilmington office is a great place to build a legal career. The Wilmington office offers you the best of two worlds. As an office, we're relatively small -- with about 15 lawyers, you'll get to know everybody in no time, and your work and talents won't get lost in the shuffle. As a firm, we're big -- 500 lawyers in 11 offices, working on complex matters for top clients across the country and the world. That means you'll get to work on a variety of exciting, challenging matters, while enjoying an environment similar to a "boutique" firm.

Located in what many regard as the corporate capital of the world, the Wilmington office handles corporate and commercial law, banking and financial services (including consumer financial services), creditors' rights and bankruptcy, intellectual property and computer law, real estate, venture capital, corporate and commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

The Wilmington office represents a wide variety of Delaware-based clients and out-of-state clients who are Delaware entities, e.g., corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and business trusts. Clients include many banks in Delaware (full service local banks as well as many of the specialized lenders that take advantage of Delaware's liberal banking laws), large corporations headquartered in Delaware, small and medium sized businesses, entrepreneurs and high-growth startups, school districts and other governmental entities, and parties involved in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, one of the most active in the country. The office has an active practice before the Delaware Chancery Court, Superior Court and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

Pepper encourages all of its lawyers to be active community members. Our Wilmington lawyers serve on boards of many local for-profit and nonprofit entities, including the Red Clay Consolidated School District Board, the Better Business Bureau, Rotary, the Delaware Innovation Fund, various task forces of the Governor, and many other charities and organizations.

Lawyers in our Wilmington office have recently represented:

  • a corporation in successfully defending shareholder litigation asserting that a "going public" transaction had been improperly terminated
