Photo of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Pepper's Harrisburg office is a great place to build a legal career. The Harrisburg office offers you the best of two worlds. As an office, we're relatively small -- with about 12 lawyers, you'll get to know everybody in no time, and your work and talents won't get lost in the shuffle. As a firm, we're big -- 500 lawyers in 11 offices, working on complex matters for top clients across the state, the country and the world. That means you'll get to work on a variety of exciting, challenging matters that aren't available at most Harrisburg firms, while enjoying an environment similar to a "boutique" firm.

The Harrisburg office has been representing clients before the Pennsylvania Legislature, regulatory agencies, and in state and federal courts for more than 30 years. Our Harrisburg litigators represent clients in commercial litigation, including claims arising under the antitrust laws, securities laws, and ERISA, health effects and product liability litigation, and employment litigation arising under federal and state employment statutes. The office also represents clients with issues relating to state government, and handles problems involving the regulation of medicine and other professions, public utilities, insurance and corporations. Our Harrisburg lawyers also are experienced in environmental law, commercial real estate, corporate transactions, intellectual property, government and industrial development, health care and municipal finance throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.

Our Harrisburg lawyers recently:

  • defended medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers in product liability lawsuits
  • represented various corporate clients in Clean Air Act enforcement litigation instituted by EPA
  • acted as bond counsel in a $64.5 million issue for the design/build of a Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Pittsburgh International Airport
  • assisted buyers and sellers of contaminated property in negotiation of sales agreements, and negotiation of cleanup agreements with state and federal agencies
  • defended manufacturers of cutting and honing oils used extensively in heavy industry against claims that exposure to those lubricants causes cancer
  • aided county and municipal governments in efforts to reverse the tax immunity of Pennsylvania's land grant university
  • for the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, served as note counsel to 20 Pennsylvania counties which, since 1992, have issued over $3 billion in TRAN borrowings for the IGT program, resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in additional federal Medicaid payments to the over 600 long-term care providers in the Commonwealth
  • represented a state wide trade association in litigation challenging state welfare distribution system
  • formed a risk purchasing group through which a state-wide health practitioner organization obtains liability insurance for its members
  • represented bank holding companies against claim of improper diversion of funds by state Treasurer.

The Harrisburg office is in One Keystone Plaza, overlooking the scenic Susquehanna River and just steps away from the Capitol and state agency offices. It's within easy commuting distance of dozens of suburban and rural communities in the region -- as one of our partners says, "I have a seven-minute commute -- eight if the elevator is slow." If your interested in a big-firm career without the big-firm drawbacks, give us a call.
