  • represent a diversified manufacturing and services company in its commercial litigation docket in the United States, including more than 75 matters in 2014; ranging from class actions and other cases with hundreds of millions of dollars in dispute, to numerous small claims.
  • obtaining a complete defense judgment following a multi-week bench trial for a publicly traded financial institution in a case seeking $16 million in alleged damages arising out of a nationwide sale of distressed assets
  • representing a consortium of 49 banks in a case involving a real estate development loan in which more than $235 million in claims were filed against the banks under various lender liability and fraud theories. Following the federal court’s dismissal of the $235 million in claims, with prejudice, the banks were awarded $12 million in compensatory damages after a three-week jury trial, in addition to the 630 acres of real property previously obtained.
  • obtained a directed defense verdict following a three-week bench trial in a class action seeking $700 million in damages for alleged breach of contract claims by former and current dealers of ADT Security Services
  • obtained a jury verdict on behalf of a railroad in a complex dispute over trackage rights
  • defend major media entities in defamation cases; including obtaining dismissal of multiple high-profile matters involving public figures
  • obtained a liability award in our client’s favor in the first major case to be heard by the New Delhi branch of the London Court of International Arbitration-India (LCIA-I) concerning a real estate joint venture in India
  • successfully defeated a federal court case against a major health system, in which plaintiffs alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • defended a nationally known hospital and health system in class action litigation stemming from allegations relating to the surreptitious photographing of patients by an obstetrician/gynecologist
  • defended Sapa Extrusions in a breach of contract, breach of warranty and fraud case
  • represented a leading U.S. educational institution in litigation filed in Bangalore, India, and U.S. federal court related to a failed educational venture
  • trial counsel for a memorial park and mortuary in a lawsuit involving claims of breach of contract, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty resulting in a favorable settlement following three months of trial
  • obtained a defense verdict after 10-day jury trial regarding an alleged failed ERP software project; plaintiffs sought damages in excess of $18 million
  • represented Lowe Enterprises Investors in two lawsuits involving a dispute between partners over ownership and control of an apartment complex valued at more than $60 million
  • defended a leading publishing company against a $60 million claim for breach of confidentiality and exclusivity agreements and fraud
  • represented a major entertainment company in connection with contractual, intellectual property and unfair competition disputes regarding a major attraction at its theme park.
