Laura M. Leitner is an associate in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the New York office. Ms. Leitner’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, media and communications law, and white collar cases.
Ms. Leitner’s commercial litigation practice experience includes defending companies in cases involving allegations of breach of contract, fraud, indemnification and trademark infringement. She also has experience in hostile takeover litigation.
Ms. Leitner’s media and communications experience includes representing numerous media defendants in defamation, privacy, copyright, and related claims; regular pre-publication review for a major New York publication; obtaining access to closed proceedings; and representing reporters invoking state shield laws in responding to subpoenas.
Ms. Leitner’s criminal and white collar experience includes assisting in internal investigations and representing an individual charged with conspiracy and fraud.
Ms. Leitner graduated from Carleton College (B.A. 2000, cum laude) and received her law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D. 2005). During law school, Ms. Leitner was a senior editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, was a member of the National Trial Competition Team, and won the Hal M. Weinstein Memorial Prize for Criminal Trial Advocacy.
