Mark S. Blaskey

Mark S. Blaskey is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Pepper Hamilton LLP and chairman of the firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on estate planning and business and succession planning.

A member of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Tax and Probate sections, Mr. Blaskey has served on the Council of the Tax Section. He also is a member of the American Bar Association’s Section on Taxation, the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants. He is a former member of the board of directors of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Orphans’ Court Procedural Rules Committee.

He is a frequent lecturer, course planner and moderator at meetings and seminars sponsored by the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and other professional and civic groups.

Mr. Blaskey was selected for inclusion on the 2014 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list.

Mr. Blaskey is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations. He is the President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia Endowments Corporation, and as such is a Vice President and a member of the Federation’s board of directors. He also is a member of the Federation’s Finance and Investment Committees. He was the recipient of the 2011 Edward N. Polisher award presented to a distinguished estate planning professional who also provides distinguished service to the Federation and its endowment program. He chairs Temple University’s Planned Giving Advisory Council, is a member of the board of directors of the Madlyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life, the AIPAC Greater Philadelphia Leadership Council and the Philadelphia Scholars Advisory Committee. He is a past president of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Blaskey joined Pepper in 2002 from Cozen O’Connor, where he was chairman of that firm’s Domestic Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group.
